Dr. Faccio is a Full Professor of Physics at Facultad de Química of the Universidad de la República in Uruguay. His multifaceted research endeavors materials science and nanotechnology, employing a combined theoretical-experimental approach. Dr. Faccio’s innovative work includes designing of nanostructured semiconductors for energy storage and solar cell’s applications. Additionally, he worked intensively on the computational study of two-dimensional systems, such as graphene (and its derivatives) and transition metal dichalcogenides, using first-principles methods.
